patience.

As many of you know, I am a mama to five wonderful children. I am blessed! Our oldest son was recently diagnosed with Aspergers and as I maneuver through this time in our family's life, I am doing my best to keep up with my business.

Please know that I am not ignoring you if I do not respond to your email right away. Much of my time right now is being taken by the things that I need to do for my family. I will respond, I promise! :) It just might take a few days.

Thank you for being patient and understanding of my current situation while I try to be present for both of my loves: my family and photography!

first.

This sweet boy is the son of my niece. That makes me his great-aunt. Sounds old, doesn't it? Oh well, he's too cute for me to worry too much about it.

summertime.

Summer time means I am rarely on the computer.  After the crazy chaos that is May with 5 kids, 4 in school...and all their activities, I tend to boycott the computer and "work" and just vege for about a month or so.  This last month has been busy still with all 5 kids home, but I've been able to sqeeze in some work...  Here's a few highlights:

dreams.

I have five kids.  They are crazy, busy, wonderful-but-sometimes-honery kids.  And in all my dreams, I just hope that they turn out to be adults that enjoy one another's company and are kind to one another.  And maybe even that we can all have fun together...

This family is what I hope my family turns into in about 20 years.  Fun people who enjoy being together!  The morning of our photo session this family participated in the Warrior Dash as a family.  SO totally awesome.  I loved spending a little bit of time with them.

it's number 55.

On the eve of my 34th birthday, I posted a list.  It's a bunch of things that I want to do in my life, if at all possible.  Some travels, some silly things, some serious ones, and a few photographic goals as well.

Number 55 on that list is "photograph a carnival at night".  I'm happy to report that last week I finally made that happen.  And here are a few of the photos I took that night...

Don't you want a shot of you and your honey like this? I do.  I promise I'm not a creeper.  These two were just too cute NOT to snap.

I had originally just planned to shoot at night. But I called up one of my cute seniors and she was willing to do a shoot there. So I ended up taking a few daytime shots while I was waiting for her to arrive.
